Privacy policy

Health information is sensitive. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and a display name you choose. We never require your real name.
• Content you share: your case stories, comments, and any details in them. You choose what to include and whether each item is posted anonymously.
• Age bracket (optional): a range like 25–34, never your date of birth.
• Technical basics: standard server logs needed to run and secure the service.

How your content is used

• Published stories appear publicly under your display name or as “Anonymous” — your choice per story.
• Your email is used only for account verification, password resets, moderation decisions, and emails you opt into.
• We do not sell your data. We do not share your health information with advertisers. Ever.

Consent

Before a story is submitted, you explicitly consent to it being displayed publicly. Editing a published story sends it back for review before the new version appears.

Deletion

You can delete your stories or your whole account at any time. Deletion is a hard delete: your stories, comments, and uploads are purged from our systems, including search indexes, within 30 days (allowing for backup rotation).

Where data lives

Data is stored on servers we control, encrypted in transit. Access is limited to the moderation team, who see only what is needed to review content. Private features (such as future symptom tracking) are visible to no one but you — not even administrators.
